Wild camping with friends in the great outdoors is just about the best adventure you can have in Scotland, and even though I crave the solitude of the mountains and the wilderness, it’s always better to share these trips into the great outdoors with pals; after a year of lockdown, it feels great to get out on a camping trip in the Cairngorms, wild swimming in Loch an Eilein at lunch, and then sitting by the beautiful Loch Morlich at sunset, with a flickering camp fire taking us well into the late summer night. Camping in Scotland doesn’t get any better than this, and the Cairngorms, around Rothiemurchus forest, really is a beautiful spot to camp out, on a nearly wild camp in Scotland; Loch Morlich also has one of the best beaches in the UK and is one of the best places to wild camp in Scotland
