Lurking at the very end of the Henne Mines, beyond the Special Charter Shaft, the final Esper in the game is a tough one! With "only" 336,847 HP, Zodiark doesn't seem too impressive compared to the creatures we have slain before, but this fight has only one rule, kill it before it kills you, and that doesn't give you much time.
The preparations start before entering the area, buff up your party with everything you have, and prepare a designated attacker with Excalibur, the White Robes if you can, Bravery and Berserk.
Then, choose one single character to start the fight, and know that they will probably be killed very quickly by Zodiark's very first attack, Darkja, its ultimate attack that deals Dark damage and can instantly kill and Blind your characters, even through Dark protection, after taking that initial attack, put your main party on the frontlines and let your attacker run wild as your other characters support them, as tempting as it is, do not Dispel Zodiark's buffs or it will possibly make the latter part of the fight harder.
Also, do NOT make everyone immune to Dark or Zodiark will use Darkja extremely often which WILL kill your characters at one point or another.
Your attacker will likely take a lot of reflected damage, so keep your healer(s) ready or your strategy may soon fall apart. (Spoiler alert: That's what happened to me.)
When its HP gets too low, the Esper will Shift its weakness and erect a Physical Paling, at this point, non-elemental spells from a character with an Opal Ring are your best bet, and that's why you don't want to Dispel Zodiark's Reflect, or it will erect a Magick Wall instead.
Ultimately, this battle will be decided very quickly, either you'll win quickly or fall quickly.
