Once upon a time in Sichuan, there resided two monks, one rich and the other poor, who shared a common desire to journey to a dreamland in search of ancient scriptures.
The rich would often remark that he would embark on the journey only when he had enough funds to hire porters and arrange transportation.
One day, the poor monk came to bid farewell to the rich and set out to seek the scriptures.
The rich asked him, do you have enough money for such an expedition?
The poor monk replied, I can take bare minimum and very realistic steps to make it happen.
"All I need is a bowl and my own two feet to start this pilgrimage."
Two years passed,, the poor monk returned. He visited the rich monk and gave him a scripture.
The rich monk received the scriptures, experiencing an indescribable mix of admiration, regret, and shame.
"The only way to make your dreams come true is to wake up and take action." Realizing our dream is not as challenging as we perceive it to be. If we simply take immediate action and adopt a "Just Do It" attitude, we increase our chances of success.
Poor monk and rich monk.
