(27 Sep 1977) A United States Marine Phantom Jet crashed into a Yokohama suburb in japan on Tuesday destroying three homes and injuring nine people. Five of the injured were seriously hurt. The reconnaissance aircraft had taken off from a naval air facility at Atsugi and was headed for the aircraft carrier Midway whose home port is Yokosuka, 40 miles (65km) South West Of Tokyo.
