"The legend of the water lily is part of Brazilian folklore. It is strongly related to the North region, marked by the Amazon Forest. It tells the story of an indigenous woman called Naiá and her passion for the Moon, called Jaci. The Moon, for the indigenous culture, is a male figure, thus, Jaci was known as a strong and handsome warrior.
In the legend, Jaci chose the most beautiful indigenous women to transform them into stars, and Naiá wanted to be one of those chosen. She was very beautiful and attracted the attention of several men, but she did not accept flirting from any of them, as she was only interested in Jaci. Whenever she saw him, she ran towards him to be chosen, but she still didn't become a star."
