The Nationalist Congress Party that has emerged as the largest opposition party in Nagaland by winning 7 seats, would finalise the leader of opposition after consulting the central high command.
Addressing the media in Kohima, National General Secy and Northeast In-charge, Narendra B Verma said the people of Nagaland gave their mandate and in this election despite contesting only in 12 seats the party won 7. He added all NCP winning candidates contested against the BJP except for one. He added the remaining 5 were the Runners Up as they stood 2nd in their constituency and there too, the contest was with the BJP. He further went on to say the elected 7 are the mass leaders.
