Cracks are a problem in reinforced concrete because they allow the rebar direct access from outside chemicals. This video talks about cracks created from structural loading. Several methods are discussed about how to eliminate cracks and then it is shown that these methods are not practical. Next, the use of reinforcing bars are discussed on how to keep cracks small. Finally, several new rebar construction technologies are discussed that can help improve the durability of our concrete structures.
