India's First RRTS 🇮🇳
Today, we had the first media test trial of India's First Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS).
The National Capital Region Planning Board (NCRPB) recognized the need to enhance connectivity within NCR and came up with a visionary solution – the Regional Rapid Transit System. Out of the eight identified corridors, the Delhi-Meerut, Delhi-Panipat, and Delhi-Alwar routes were given priority.
RRTS is not your typical railway; it offers reliable, high-frequency, point-to-point regional travel at remarkable speeds, making it stand out from conventional railways. It's also distinct from the metro as it caters to passengers who need to travel longer distances with fewer stops, ensuring a swift, comfortable, and efficient journey.

In a momentous development, the first phase of the Delhi-Meerut RRTS, covering 17 kilometres and serving five stations, is set to be fully operational by 2025. Prime Minister Modi will unveil this 17-kilometer stretch on October 20, marking a significant leap forward in India's transportation landscape.
