Sunday's legislative election in Benin will have no opposition politicians on the ballot.
The Electoral Commission said in March that none of the parties opposed to the government met new requirements and the National Assembly failed to reach an agreement on a constitutional resolution.
The president has said that the elections should go forward, but at least one civil society activist said it could take the country back decades.
