We’ve already talked about the CPU in an earlier session and the part it plays in the overall running of the computer system. However, what about all the portable computing devices we have these days, and how could a CPU work in something like a mobile phone or a tablet?
First let’s look at the differences there might be between a CPU in a desktop computer and a processing unit in your mobile phone. One difference is the number and functions of the two central processing units in your phone, rather than the one you have in a computer. One of these is the Global System for Mobile Communications processor, or GSM, and the Application Processor or AP.
