The Supreme Court has upheld the death sentence awarded to the convicts in the Nirbhaya gang rape and murder case, dismissing review petitions filed by three of the convicts. The bench of Chief Justice Dipak Misra and Justices Bhushan and Banumathi held there were no grounds for review, which means the only recourse for the convicts is an appeal to the President.
