On the August 6th, 2021 episode of This Week in Apple, I talk about a new feature coming in iOS 15 and iPadOS 15 that aims to help stop child abuse. Apple will be able to monitor photos stored in iCloud to detect if they match any known CSAM (Child Sexual Abuse Material) and if so, alert authorities. Here is how that will work when it rolls out this fall.
I also talk about leaked Thunderbolt 5 specs, cracked screens on M1 MacBook Airs, and new regulatory filings on Apple Watch Series 7 and M1X Macs.
