In this video I show you the location of the Shield of Want and how to find it. The shield of want is located in the Smouldering Lakes and is guarded by a giant worm that dwells inside of the molten. Follow the directions I take in this video and you will find the Shield of Want.

The Shield of Want is a magical shield, and allows extra spell absorption by 20% the amount that you normally would get. This effect also stacks with the Covetous Silver Serpent Ring, for the optimal amount of souls gained.

From the - bonfire, turn around (opposite the direction towards Irythll), and head straight for the decrepit bridge. Once at the bridge, do not cross it, but simply swing at the wooden sticks holding up the bridge attached to the floor. Once the bridge has snapped, use the hanging steps as a ladder to descend onto the platform below you. In the area coming up there should be 3 enemy types: a Fire Demon, a mimic, and a bunch of Skeletons. In the video I had already cleared the Fire Demon and Mimic, but when they are killed, the Mimic drops the "Black Blade", and the Fire Demon drops the "Fire Demon Soul". Proceed onward until you reach the lake. Head forward and loot the corpse that I looted in the video that contains the Shield of Want.
