In our latest winter road trip adventures in the Rocky Mountains, we went to Winterhawk Dogsled Adventures in the Leadville, Colorado area!

Historic Leadville was about an hour from our cabin in Fairplay so it was a short drive to this super fun activity! There are different options for dogsledding in Colorado BUT this place was pretty cool. We got to dogsled the entire 5-mile route (about 45 minutes) through the San Isabel National Forest and then we learned about the dog teams. In case you’re wondering, I did survive although there was a little incident … We did get some great footage and we did purchased some amazing photos of our adventures. (some are included in this video!)

After the fun, we headed to High Mountain Pies which is a local favorite to sample their “world famous” pizza. They had some really interesting pies and they did not disappoint. You really need to check out this place if you’re in this area and if you like pizza!
