Canon R3 12 Bit 6K RAW 50p/60p Cinematic
Finally, Its here omg. The camera that I have been waiting for. So the reason why I picked up the Canon R3. First, I have always been a big fan of a 1DX body. A flagship camera that you can pretty much use it for anything. Last year, I almost bought a 1DX Mark III. But Covid hits, it was backordered for so many months in Australia. But compared with the R3. I’m glad I did wait for it. As the R3 shoots 6K up to 60p. Even though the 1DX was 5.5K up to 60p already. It wasn’t the 0.5K made me buy the R3. The mainly reason was the DPAF. Because on the 1DX Mark III. When you record it on 5.5K 60p, the video autofocus no longer available. But then what about the R5? Yes the R5 is an awesome camera. And it shoots beautiful 8K video aswel. But for me I rather have 6K 60p than 8K 30p. Cause I always like to slow down my footage a bit in post. Especially for weddings. And also the most important thing is the overheating issue. The R3 is pretty much stress free at the wedding. Plus the lowlight performance is much better compared with the R5 45MegaPixel. But one thing I wish the R3 could do like the R5 does. The 6K in normal MP4. As the R5 can do normal 8K video. But the R3 can only do 6K in RAW. And I don’t shoot a lot of RAW videos. Especially on weddings. Hopefully we get to see in the firmware update. I mean if that is possible.
So over all, this Canon R3 is such a beautiful camera. I was super enjoy using it.
Note: The 6K C-Log 3 in lowlight isn’t that great. Maybe I have to do another with just MP4.
