While installing a new shower during a bathroom remodel I dropped a piece of the shower drain installation kit down the drain pipe. The metal piece had to be removed before the shower could be operational and because I needed the tool piece to finish the installation. There was no way to physically access the shower drain trap because this was a shower on a ground level concrete floor. I came up with a very simple solution to remove the item from the shower drain using an old computer part of all things.
This tool may be another way to remove items from the drain pipe.
