ATL Airport Community Improvement Districts (AACIDs) have a vision for technological innovation that will improve the quality of life and mobility for property owners in and around the world’s busiest airport, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. One cutting-edge solution for mobility is the use of Personal Rapid Transit (PRT), an Automated Transit Network system (ATN). This is a safe, cost-effective mode of transportation using small modes called podcars, that are used to transport passengers between designated locations. When compared to other modes of transportation PRT is most the affordable and adaptable.
ATN providers, with the aim of gaining a deeper understanding of the technology and its potential benefits for the South Metro area and beyond. Accompanied by a delegation of transportation leaders, AACIDs sought to explore the possibilities for the future of transit. These trips were instrumental in informing AACIDs' strategic planning and decision-making processes, as they continue to work towards enhancing transportation infrastructure and connectivity in the region.
