Hello everyone!
This video is about the New Tri-Arrow themed OEM side step for TATA Nexon.
Nexon is my first car, this particular one is XZ Manual Petrol variant that i bought on 23rd November 2020.
On third Service, I decided to get a Side Step installed on it. I paid a total sum of ₹ 15,000 for this. I had to pay 30% advance to place an order at my dealership.
On the screen you can see the Part Number of that.
Few days later, I received a call from dealership that this old one has been discontinued and a newer version has been dispatched by TATA.
You can see the new Part Number on the screen right now along with the picture which is shared to me by POC.
Here you can see the Side Step is being installed right now. Bolts are unscrewed from car's underbody and replaced by the ones provided with these heavy angles.
The Side Step is then screwed over these 3 angles which are installed on either side of the car.
The new side step you can see, it matches the Try-Arrow Design philosophy of TATA. Personally, I think this is looking pretty awesome!
Let me show you some glam footage of it.
You can see how the 3 angles are screwed below car's underbody.
NO Drilling is performed! Manufacturers specially designed their cars keeping in mind the scope of the accessories which can be paired with them.
The bolts and washers which were unscrewed from underbody were handed over to me by the installer. Very very grateful for that.
Now some people might say that I have ruined my car's Ground Clearance.
Allow me to put some light on that. So, the ground clearance is something which is measured between ground and lowest hanging part of the car which is typically the axle, differential or the exhaust system.
It is not the car's running board.
Nexon's Ground Clearance is 209 millimeters which I think and from what I can see, it is being measured between ground and the exhaust system (below engine compartment), not the running board.
You can see as I'm trying to measure here you can see that the the angles, the bolts or the Side Step itself is not affecting the distance between the ground and the exhaust (below engine compartment) of Nexon.
So, all clear on that but still if you believe that Ground Clearance is gap between ground and running board then you can see it is affected by 40-50 mm.
Next I will briefly show you the width of side step here if you wish to know.
Main Benefit: And here I show you how exactly this will be useful especially for the rear passengers since egress from Nexon is bit of a task.
Every Nexon owner I think know about that.
Apart from that, two other secondary benefits that I felt of this is -
#1: Car's door and running board won't get dirty with the mud thrown by the front wheels which I think also every Nexon owner know.
Nexon's mud flaps are pretty much useless in preventing that.
#2: The running board won't spoil your pants when you are stepping out of the car.
It has happened with me many times.
All right then, that's all that I wanted to share.
Thank you for watching. B-bye.
