New Zealand has won its battle against widespread undetected coronavirus community transmission, and is one of the first countries in the world to do so. They have set an efficient model of care access and preparation that has allowed them to fight back COVID-19.

The island nation implemented a 4-level Alert System, where level 1 is the Preparation stage with confined borders. At level 2 “Reduce” stage, there is no restriction on movement, but people are asked to keep a social distance. Alert Level 3 is “Restrict” where people can go out for essential personal movements such as work or school. And level 4 is the lockdown stage where everyone is instructed to stay at home (in their bubble).

Their coronavirus regulations have been some of the toughest in the world, going into lockdown when they had only around a hundred confirmed cases. Today, they will be easing back the lockdown as the country gets on top of the domestic outbreak.

Strict Travel Controls
