Britain’s COVID-19 vaccine rollout has been hailed as an extraordinary feat as 15 million residents have now received their first dose of the jab.
The latest government figures also indicated 537,000 people have received two doses.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson touted the news, but warned there was still a long way to go.
“I can tell you we’ve now offered the jab to everyone in the first four priority groups … hitting the first target that we’ve set ourselves,” he said.
“We’ve still got a long way to go and there will undoubtedly be bumps in the road, but after all we’ve achieved I know we can go forward with great confidence.”
Britain reported 258 fatalities and nearly 11,000 new infections in the past 24-hours.
