Finding opportunities is always nuanced, but here’s how I approach it. When I walk through my town, I analyze every store and think about how the business is run and how much money it does or could make. I create mini P&L statements in my mind and think about areas that I could improve. I quickly learn what’s a “good” business and what’s not.
