The UNSW AI Institute and UNSW Allens Hub jointly present “AI Law and Regulation: A European perspective”. This workshop was hosted by Professor Rob Nicholls on Monday 10 October 2022 at UNSW Sydney.
The EU argues that the “Digital Services Act and Digital Markets Act aim to create a safer digital space where the fundamental rights of users are protected and to establish a level playing field for businesses.” In this presentation, Chris Marsden, Professor of Artificial Intelligence, Technology and the Law at Monash University, provides an insight into both pieces of legislation which have finally been published in the Official Journal, and considers the extent to which the EU approach to the proposed ‘AI Act’ (draft Regulation) is likely to affect views on AI and Big Tech regulation in Australia.
