Police say its investigation into the leaked contents of a letter to CIA seeking Washington’s support for Barisan Nasional (BN) before the recent general election, is almost complete.
The investigation followed a report lodged by former top intelligence officer Hasanah Ab Hamid, who wanted police to investigate who leaked the letter she wrote to CIA director Gina Haspel.
Inspector General of Police (IGP) Fuzi Harun refused to reveal more details, other than saying that investigation papers would be submitted to the public prosecutor’s office.
“I do not wish to reveal the suspects who leaked the letter,” he told reporters today.
