In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Varsha Eknath Gaikwad of the Indian National Congress (INC) won the Mumbai North Central constituency, securing 445,545 votes, which accounted for 48.93% of the total votes cast.
She defeated her nearest rival, Ujjwal Nikam from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), who received 429,031 votes (47.00%). The voter turnout for this election was recorded at 51.98%.
Gaikwad's victory margin was 16,514 votes, marking a closely contested election in this constituency. The Mumbai North Central Lok Sabha seat includes six assembly segments: Vile Parle, Chandivali, Kurla, Kalina, Vandre East, and Vandre West.
