Altin Gün (freely translated: golden day) offer an exciting mix of Turkish folk, psychedelia, funk and rock. Their debut-album ‘On’ will be released mid March 2018 on Bongo Joe Records and presented to their fans in Istanbul, Brussels, Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Berlin.


The bands main influence comes from the soundtrack the 70’s in Turkey where artists like Selda, Barış Manço and Erkin Koray combined traditional music with western rock. Result is a style of it’s own, inspired by the originals, but with the sound of now.


The band itself was founded by bassplayer Jasper Verhulst. He found soulbrothers in guitarplayer Ben Rider, drummer Nic Mauskovic, percussion player Gino Groeneveld. The Turkish flavor in Altin Gun comes from singer, saz and keyboardplayer Erdinc Yildiz Ecevit and the powerful voice and energy of Merve Dasdemir. A unique blend of styles and sounds which hardly can be heared these day.


After the release of their single Goca Dunya the band toured around in Europe. For 2018 shows in Belgium, France, Germany, Portugal and Spain are booked and their album ‘Go’ will be premiered in Istanbul on March 24.
