**NOTE** I made a mistake with the # of photos mentioned in the intro! There are actually 678 photos to cull, not 1200! (I accidentally included the XMP files in the photo count by mistake) Almost 700 photos in under 10 minutes is still pretty quick :)
Culling is the process of organizing your photos into those you keep and those you do not. Its possible to cull photos in Lightroom, and for smaller shoots this might be fine. But for larger events with thousands of photos (Like wedding photography for instance!) Lightroom's lag between images means you spend valuable time waiting for Lightroom to load, instead of quickly comparing, sorting and organizing your selected images from the rejects. Using a program like photo mechanic which is optimized for lightning fast load times between images, we are able to cull a wedding down from thousands of images to the final several hundred in just a few short minutes!
This wedding photography workflow series is a peak into our Signature Edits Lightroom preset system, optimized for one click edits and designed with wedding photographers in mind! Take your turnaround time for editing a wedding down from months or weeks to HOURS.
