Little Steve is a bit of a late season surprise. Rescued at only three weeks old, he's a very late baby.
He's not even fully furred, and at this age baby bats are usually still on their mother, and cannot thermoregulate, so require housing in an incubator, and frequent small feeds until they can tolerate bottle feeding.
He was rescued on an unusually cold morning and was quite hypothermic, so he's taken a while to stabilise. So for now he's just catching up on fluids and getting some sunshine.
