This is the first and only Canadian show of the tour. The band are still in their "early tour" phase as heard both due to the sheer amount of energy and a few hiccups mainly by Brian. The crowd is very receptive throughout and would go on to sing "We Will Rock You" after leaving the venue at the end of the show. The setlist remains the exact same as three days ago in Detroit but thanks to two HQ audience recording we get to hear it almost completely tonight.
I liked the format of the Champions Shoot review, I think I'll keep it like in a similar vein. Unfortunately, the show doesn't get off to the strongest start as the first three or four numbers both see the band playing decently but not as creatively as well as Freddie's voice being in quite rough shape for this tour as he struggles on the more taxing parts. The medley is an entire rollercoaster of emotions as you get strong performances such as "Death on Two Legs" or "Killer Queen", straight-up GOAT performances ("I'm in Love with My Car" and "Get Down, Make Love") and duds suchs as "Good-Old Fashioned Lover Boy" (Freddie sounds rough, Brian messes up his solo) and "The Millionaire Waltzs". Fortunately, from there on the show gets the shape of a November NOTW show with Freddie's voice settling in (apart from a few nodule pops coming up here and there) and the band simply exploding into great highs durings songs such as "Spread Your Wings", "Liar" and the "White Man suite" which includes a fantastic guitar solo by Brian. On a side note, tonight's acoustic set is gorgeous with another heavenly "Love of My Life", a great "'39" and a "My Melancholy Blues" even better than Detroit's in my opinion!
