Dick Powell sings Warren and Dubin's hit bondage love song in Frank Borzage's "Shipmates Forever." Borzage, one of the great intense dramatic-romantic directors in Hollywood at the time, turned what was intended to be a light military comedy with Powell and Ruby Keeler into something more tense.
