Normally when I feed a flytrap, I put the bug into it and record it for a few seconds. This time I kept recording for around 15 minutes. This shows the walls of the flytrap closing in and effectively crushing the locust.
Notice how, once fully clothed, it appears airtight. That's to stop the digestive enzymes escaping from the trap and to prevent bacteria from entering. If you ever see a flytrap shut tight like this one is at the end of the video, leave it alone. If you open it, you effectively kill the trap.
