The Australian Defence Force (ADF) provided support to local authorities following a request from the Northern Territory (NT) Government, to assist in dealing with the impacts of COVID-19 in the Katherine area.

The ADF provided up to 25 people and vehicles to move isolated close contacts to COVID-19 testing centers, and up to 40 personnel and vehicles to support NT Health with the delivery of food to vulnerable communities.

About 20 ADF personnel also assisted NT Police in manning road checkpoints.
