After planting 4 crape myrtles along a fence in our yard we discovered that one of them produced white flowers. They all were supposed to produce lavendar flowers. By the time we realized this the plant had grown quite a bit. Since it would have been pricey to replace a full size crape myrtle I opted to graft lavendar branches onto it. The only grafting technique that worked for me was the approach graft. This video describes that process.
Here are the materials that I used:
-a potted Muskogee Crape Myrtle (the donor plant)
-grafting tape
-tape
-utility knife
-homemade stand for holding the pot up
-loppers
