Both Republicans and Democrats have dismissed Donald Trump's suggestion the US presidential election be delayed because of alleged voting fraud.
The President is also grappling with a recession, with new figures showing the economy is experiencing its worst performance on record.
The highly contentious issue of the November vote was even raised during the funeral of civil rights leader John Lewis.
