First off I should tell you that Mbah translates to Grandpa, so from now on I'm calling him Grandpa Gotho. Sounds cool right? This Indonesian man claims ot be born in 1870... I know. It sounds far fetched, but he has the documents to prove it. So let's see if Grandpa Ghoto's age is REAL or Fake!
Let's learn about Grandpa. According to family he was married four times and his government identification documents ([ Ссылка ] ) indicate his date of birth as 12/31/1870. 12/31... that date seems fishy. I'm surprised he wasn't born on April first.
Speaking of fish, he made his living as a fisherman. And Grandpa is a local celebrity in his small town of Sragen.
So does the Guinness Book of World Records consider him the world's oldest man? Sorry. The answer is no. According to them, the oldest person to have lived is 122-year-old French woman Jeanne Louise Calment, who died in a nursing home in 1997.
Snopes also says that they can't verify his claim, so I am going to rule this as a big fat fake. What do you think? Leave a comment below about this fantastic claim.
