This third ARJEN ANTHONY LUCASSEN'S STAR ONE album “Revel in Time” is a reaction and definitely a contrast to Arjen Lucassen’s previous album, the Ayreon album “Transitus”. “Transitus” is a very cinematic album, almost a musical. The music very much serves the story, and the emphasis is mainly on the vocals. There are hardly any lengthy instrumental parts, and the music is not primarily based on guitar riffs. In contrast, “Revel in Time” is — as with other Star One albums — pretty much riff based and there is more focus on virtuoso musicianship. It turned out to be a pretty heavy album, especially compared to “Transitus”.

I sat down with Arjen himself to discuss the album, the Beatles, Bladerunner, Groundhog Day and much, much more! Arjen even opens up in ways he's never done before as he talks about his father and mother and the special meaning some of his songs have.

Star One – Fate of Man (Brittney Slayes, Michael Romeo) [ Ссылка ]
This fast and furious album opener is the second video clip/single of the new Star One album ‘Revel In Time’. The lyrics are inspired by the movie Terminator.
For me this is the most Star One-ish track on the album, reminiscent of ‘Set Your Controls’ from the first Star One album ‘Space Metal’. The lead vocals are by the amazingly talented singer Brittney Slayes of Unleash the Archers and the virtuoso guitar solo is by none other than Michael Romeo of Symphony X. One of my own favorite tracks on the album. Curious to read your comments below, enjoy!

Star One - Lost Children of the Universe (Roy Khan, Tony Martin, Marcela and Irene, Steve Vai) [ Ссылка ]
This 10-minute epic is the first video clip/single of the new Star One album Revel in Time. The lyrics are inspired by the movie Interstellar.
This is a slightly different version than on the CD. On CD1 Roy Khan sings the lead vocals and on CD2 Tony Martin sings the lead vocals. For this YouTube version I combined their voices. Dear friends, you better hold on tight for this absolutely zany clip... here is the 4th single: ‘Revel In Time’! It’s based on the equally zany movie ‘Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure’. It was filmed in Holland and the U.S. and of course... in outer space.
This is definitely is the most varied Star One album so far. After the epic ‘Lost Children of the Universe’, the fast and furious ‘Fate of Man’, the complex and proggy ‘Prescient’ we now have this deliriously wild ride for you with ‘Revel In Time’. I sure hope you have a sense of humor, haha!
