HONG KONG, October 5, 2016 — In this illustrated lecture, internationally renowned art historian Pratapaditya Pal talks about the close bond that existed between Ananda Kentish Coomaraswamy, the first curator of Indian art ever appointed in the United States, and his patron Denman Waldo Ross. He notes that Coomaraswamy had played an enormous role at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and laments that American museums these days only pay attention to contemporary art and neglect Asian art.
