STORYLINE
Security cameras on Monday filmed the three massive vehicle bombs exploding near the Palestine Hotel in the Iraqi capital.
At least 20 passers-by were killed in the attacks, but only about seven people inside the hotel - home to a number of foreign and Arab journalists and foreign contract workers - were wounded.
None inside the hotel were badly hurt.
The footage captured by the security cameras first show a white car driving up to the concrete blast wall that separates the hotel complex from Firdous Square.
The vehicle explodes, blasting out a section of the wall.
Two minutes later and on the opposite side of the square, a second car blows up, next to the 14th Ramadan Mosque.
One minute later, a cement truck drives through the breach in the blast wall and appeares to get about five to six metres (15 to 20 feet) inside the compound when it suddenly stops.
It repeatedly drives short distances back and forth, as if stuck on something, as gunfire breaks out, though the footage does not capture this audio.
A few puffs of black smoke rise over the truck, then it explodes in a huge ball of fire and smoke.
