We started these grape vines from other vines on our property. These vines were started from cuttings and are starting their third season of growing. We have transformed a garden space into a plot of 30 vines. Our trellis system is 5 feet 6" off the ground and the vines are growing nicely. This video features updates on their growth, progression and next steps.
These vines were planted in the Fall 2016. Being the spring of 2019 - they are starting their 3rd year of growth. Typically you can harvest fruit after the 3rd year, however my goal for this year is to growth additional canes to make a "T" at the top of the line. This will form our cordon - horizontal vines that our growth in year 4 will come from! This is a very exciting year for us, which us luck. If you have any tips or tricks for us, please let us know.
