(24 May 1978) Meeting between the Palestine Liberation Organisation leader, Yasser Arafat and the Lebanese Prime Minister, Mr Selim Al Hoss, together with the commander of the Arab Peace-Keeping Force, Colonel Samy Al Khatib. Mr Arafat left the meeting in Beirut having agreed to cooperate with the United Nations Peace - Keeping Force in order to ensure that the Israelis withdraw completely from South Lebanon and return the area to Lebanese sovereignty.
