About the Artists:
Baba Hapi is an educational leader, writer and artist from Huntsville, Texas who resides in Washington, DC. His love for the culture of ancient Kemet (modern-Egypt) and 1980s graffiti style inspired him to create the "anti-aesthetic" known as glyphGRAF. His art translates his own poetry into modern allegories that rework ancient stories for contemporary application. The art encodes they myth of Ausar (Osiris in Greece) into small densely compact stations similar to the stations of the cross in the Catholic Church.
Each glyphGRAF is a coded message and reinterprets portions of the Ausar legend in a hieroglyphic system created by the artist. His work also includes photography documenting the global interconnection of cultures and the "anti-aesthetic" of nature and technology.
The artist behind the Grey Young Collection is an emerging teenage artist and scholar from Washington, DC. Her art expresses the philosophical dialogue of her generation. The fashion reflects terms and affirmations essential to surviving one's formative years within the first two decades of the 21st century.
The artist was recently admitted to a prestigious boarding school and ALL revenue from her work will assist in closing the gap between her scholarship and the remaining tuition costs.
