Even the Grandmaster of the Jedi Order and the radiance of the light side were no longer able to stand against what the darkness had become. Evolving over a millennium, the Sith had transformed not only their mastery of the Force but also their understanding of the Jedi. They had prepared for this very day, while the Jedi Order had spent their time expecting to face the same enemy. The new incarnation of the Sith could not be destroyed with a mere lightsaber and Force abilities. Their shadow had eclipsed the light. Yoda knew that if he stayed, he would be defeated, destroying any hope for the future.
