Why does this livable village not have one single resident anymore?
On top of the mountains, right next to a valley, the last remains of an old Romanesque town are still perceptible. The rest of the village is flooded, as in 1965 the government decided to build this reservoir, entirely submerging all the buildings.
Forced to leave their town, the inhabitants made their best effort to take their valuables, and even exhume their dead before the man-made flood. Leaving the skeleton of their town, they headed inland.
It is not clear to us why the other part of the former village, which emerges from the water, right next to the valley, no longer has any inhabitants. No information can be found on the internet. Hence, all we can do is go out ourselves in the hope to find an answer.
