It’s pretty rare to mix up exactly the right amount of resin, so there’s usually a couple of ounces left over. I usually pour that excess into a plastic cup. Once it’s cured, I pour the next little bit of leftover on top of it. Eventually, you get a nice little chunk of epoxy resin, but of course, it’s made up of several layers of different colors.
What to do with that leftover resin? Well, you can do what I do in this video: glue on a waste block and throw that baby on the lathe to make a pretty cool candle holder (or small vase…whatever floats your boat).
I wouldn’t call it a masterpiece or the height of artistry, but it’s not a bad little piece!
