Tips What To Do On The First Night Orlando Vacation
Stuck for what to do on the first night of your Orlando vacation? With its many theme parks, restaurants, shopping and entertainment it can be tempting to dive straight into the excitement when you arrive in Orlando.
For us international arrivals, our flights will typically arrive into Orlando International Airport late afternoon into the evening. As with all international travel, its impossible to foresee any delays, airport queues, therefore I would recommend not planning in too much detail your first evening to avoid any disappointment.
Have a rough general idea of what activity you’d like to do, but don’t completely fill your itinerary.
Make sure that you are getting the best value out of your theme park ticket by using it on the first night. If you only have a couple of hours, is it the best use of your time?
Don’t forget if you are on a 14 night holiday, that’s actually 15 days so if you have a 14 day ticket and use it on your first night, your ticket will expire the day before you travel home.
There are many entertainment districts, Universal Orlando Resort is home to Universal’s CityWalk and Walt Disney World Resort is home to Disney Springs which both feature many unique restaurants for dining and shopping opportunities.
On International Drive you’ll find Icon Park home to Orlando Star Flyer & Orlando FreeFall the world’s tallest drop tower. There’s also a lively collection of bars and restaurants.
If you are up for an exciting first evening, I recommend the Fun Spot parks which features pay-one-price ticket to ride go-karts, roller coasters and rides, there are 2 Fun Spot parks in Orlando and they are typically open until midnight.
Alternatively you could opt to have a relaxing first evening at your hotel resort, chilling by the pool could be a great way to unwind after a long flight and get your batteries recharged for your vacation ahead of you.
Ultimately you have to do you, i’d always advise to be flexible on the first night and go with the flow a little. As always its about managing expectations to have the best experience What do you like to do on your first night of your Orlando vacation?
Do you have any tips or ideas that i didn’t cover?
