Paper Mario is a divisive franchise that has garnered some controversy over the past decade. Despite the constant changes the franchise saw since Sticker Star, it's done little to differentiate from them since & prioritizing criticism & consumer feedback far less than most suspect. This has garnered the argument that Paper Mario refuses to change. Its philosophies, vision, qualms, and impact on consumers and fans has remained the same since 2011. Why? What are the intentions of the developers and the vision of Paper Mario to them vs. the fans? Why has Paper Mario become so fragile in both consistency and discourse? Can Paper Mario eventually hopefully return to what the majority want out of the series?
