Session 4 of the workshop on policing during the pandemic in South Asia is moderated by Upasana Garoo, Project Officer South Asia at DCAF’s Asia-Pacific Unit.
It features a 90-minute roundtable on human rights concerns during the pandemic in South Asia, including gender-based violence and child protection. Speakers include Samanthie J Paranagama, Senior Attorney at Law in Sri Lanka, Zoha Waseem, Research Fellow at the Institute for Global City Policing of University College London, Dipti Karki, Deputy Superintendent of the Nepal Police’s Women Children and Senior Citizens Service Directorate, Dr Roshan Khanijo, Assistant Director of the United Services Institution of India, Amena Begam, Deputy Superintendent of the Bangladesh Police, and Dan Hales, Programme Coordinator at DCAF’s Honduras Office.
