Four candidates in Senegal's presidential election late Sunday congratulated anti-establishment figure Bassirou Diomaye Faye on his first-round win, in light of initial indications from the ongoing vote count. Meanwhile, Senegal's governing coalition backing presidential candidate Amadou Ba on Sunday said it was "certain" there would be a second-round vote. Whoever comes out on top will be tasked with steering Senegal, which is viewed as a beacon of democracy in West Africa.
