The garden was initially created by Colonel Harry Clive, it was his wartime decision in 1940 to provide a garden for his ailing wife with a series of interesting walks as she was suffering from Parkinson’s disease.
Dorothy died in 1942 but Colonel Clive continued to work on the project through the 1940’s and 1950’s, especially the quarry which covers around 2 acres.
The gardens is now run by a trust and the garden has grown in size over the years, it’s a well kept garden and well worth a visit when in the area near Willoughbridge TF9 4EU on the Nantwich to Stone Road, A51.
