Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is using emergency powers to end the truckers’ protest. The Emergencies Act allows the federal government to take “special temporary measures” for a period of 30 days during national emergencies. These would include the ability to ban public gatherings, travel and the use of particular property.
