We arrive in Bali to celebrate my 40th birthday and check into our hotel, Andaz Bali (@andazbali5242) located along the the east coast in Sanur. In this video you'll hear our first impressions of Andaz Bali including room tour and walkthrough of the hotel grounds plus dinner at Firefox, their specialty steakhouse restaurant.
Here's what to expect if you are looking to stay at Andaz Bali. Some of these are covered in this video and others will be shown in the following videos:
+Positives+
- Located in Sanur, walking distance to some shops but nowhere near as busy as Seminyak (this is a plus for me!).
- Sunrise at Sanur beach is a must see. You can walk straight onto the beach from Andaz and borrow one of the hotel's bikes to ride along the trail.
- There are 3 pools at Andaz Bali, the main one is an infinity pool overlooking the beach and never seems crowded despite full occupancy. Sun loungers are available with no need to reserve in advance.
- Free kid's club with 2 hours access per day per child.
- There are 5 restaurants at Andaz Bali, 4 located in Village Square, each with a different theme (steakhouse, Asian, Mediterranean, deli & bakery) and one overlooking the beach (seafood). Quality of food is really good and prices overall are pretty reasonable for a hotel.
- Breakfast is a la carte but you can order as much as you like. The menu is extensive and a lot of the dishes are really well executed. There are also some specials each day so you'll never get bored of the options unless you are staying at the hotel for an extended period haha
- Service by the team is amazing, everyone shows genuine care and warmth.
- Lounge offers complimentary soda, coffee and tea all day.
- Mini bar in the room is complimentary (except for alcoholic beverages) and is re-stocked daily.
- Welcome amenities and snacks are generous.
- Room is spacious and the bathroom is incredible. Everything is kept spotlessly clean.
- Wi-fi connectivity is strong and speedy across the entire hotel. Noticeable as I had to work during my holiday :(
- Hotel grounds are beautiful and kept immaculate by the team daily.
- WhatsApp service at your fingertips. Need something extra for your room or looking to order food by the pool, no problems. They are very responsive!
- Traditional Balinese Village layout and homely feel.
- Traditional music at Village Square during the day and live music/band on some nights - great vibes.
- Daily activities such as yoga and basket weaving, etc.
- Massage at the Spa was bliss.
-Some things to consider-
- Fitness centre and spa is located at the Hyatt Regency sister hotel next door (connected via walkway).
- The kid's pool is a bit small but will suit those with infants and toddlers. The lagoon pool seemed a bit unkept and no one was using this pool at the time of our visit.
